AS IS DVD PRESENTS - The Flukey Stokes Documentary
For those unfamiliar with AS IS DVD / Magazine, they are one of the street's premier urban documentarians, doing both the video and print hustles by putting out DVDs and magazines. Their material covers what they know best: the Streets, and being that AS IS originates from the crime-filled Windy City, you know what to expect. Giving you all those street tales of crime and the powerful gangstas responsible for it, AS IS is in tune to the streets like few other media sources. Giving you the real deal always, AS IS is always that authentic hood sh*t.
With their past DVDs, AS IS has chronicled some of the street's baddest hustlers and gangstas, including Larry Hoover, Freeway Rick Ross, Angelo Roberts, the Miami Drug Cartels featured in the movie 'Cocaine Cowboys', Maserati Rick, Black Mafia Family (BMF), and now they're taking on the Chicago street legend Flukey Stokes.
They didn't come much flashier than Flukey.
In a town with a history for mob violence and an extensive underworld of crime -- do the names Al Capone, John Dillinger, Machine-Gun Kelley, Bugsy ring a bell?, a black man named Flukey Stokes eventually came to rule the streets of Chicago in the early 80's. Flukey and his son, Willie The Wimp, ran their $50 million heroin business with flamboyance and ruthless violence, with the elder Stokes being accused of more than 30 murders in his days. Extorting millions and making even more in the drug game, Flukey and his son lived the notorious high life in Chicago, with extravagant homes, women and, perhaps most symbolic, cars.
See, Flukey Stokes buried his son in a Cadillac casket. Which made Willie The Wimp more famous in death, than in his street life. In fact, Flukey's funeral arrangements inspired these song lyrics by the great Stevie Ray Vaughn & Double Trouble -- "Willie The Wimp":
"Willie the Wimp was buried today,
They laid him to rest in a special way.
Sent him off in the finest style
That casket-mobile really drove 'em wild
Southside Chicago will think of him often
Talkin' 'bout Willie the Wimp and his Cadillac coffin,
Willie the Wimp and his Cadillac coffin
That casket, it looked like a fine Seville
He had a vanity license and a Cadillac grille
Willie was propped up in the driver's seat
He had diamonds on his fingers and a smile sweet
Fine red suit had the whole town talkin'
Talkin' 'bout Willie the Wimp and his Cadillac coffin
Willie the Wimp and his Cadillac coffin
Oh, Cadillac to Heaven he was wavin' the banner
He left like he lived, in a lively manner
With a-hundred dollar bills in his fingers tight
He had flowers for wheels and a-flashin' headlights
He been wishin' for wings, no way he was walkin'
Talkin' 'bout Willie the Wimp and his Cadillac coffin
Yeah, Willie the Wimp and his Cadillac coffin"
AS IS DVD brings you the real story of Flukey Stokes. This is the official Flukey Stokes documentary.
