Description
Flint, Michigan is a city with a history rooted in the automobile
industry, most notably serving as the birthplace of General Motors
and the home of thousands of automobile industry workers. Flint is
also known for its violent crime, ranking by the FBI as No. 2 most
violent crime-ridden city in the nation in 2011.
Now, Flint has a different reason to be known: they are officially on the hip-hop map. With only one mixtape under his belt (2010's excellent debut 'Vinnie Chase: Season 1'), Jon Connor steps out from the shadows of the Flint's gloomy backdrop to bring some light to one of hip-hop's biggest rising lyricists and musicians.
Hashing out the beats for most of his own records and matching this solid production with even stronger bursts of raw lyricism, it didn't take long for the game to notice, evidenced by a HEAVY salute and full-fledged cosign from Busta Rhymes at the beginning of the tape.
Like Busta said... "It aint even about the town he comes from, he is just shittin on niggaz...shit don't even sound like it's territorial, he sounds like he lives around the block from me in New York...he just sound like real hip-hop."
